Frequently asked questions

Do I need to rinse this substrate before adding it to my tank?

Yes. Always rinse sand and gravel in a bucket with cold tap water until the runoff is clear to remove natural transit dust and prevent water cloudiness.

Will this substrate affect my water parameters (pH, KH, or GH)?

No. Our inert sands and gravels will not leach minerals into your tank or alter your pH, KH, or GH levels.

How much sand or gravel do I need for my aquarium?

A standard guideline is 1–1.5 kg of substrate per 10 liters of tank volume, targeting a depth of 3–5 cm for healthy plant rooting and biological filtration.

Can I use this in both freshwater and marine setups?

Yes. It is 100% safe for all freshwater, planted, community, and saltwater environments.

Will the color look the same once submerged underwater?

Expect it to look slightly darker and richer underwater and under tank lights compared to how it looks dry in the bag.
