ZISS Aqua - CO2 Generator Unit- ZC-II
Description
Ziss CO2 ZC-II Generator
Precise, Reliable & Safe CO₂ Enrichment for Planted Aquariums
The Ziss CO2 ZC-II Generator is a revolutionary, patented chemical neutralisation system designed to deliver a stable and efficient source of CO₂ for planted aquariums.
Unlike traditional yeast-based CO₂ systems, the ZC-II provides:
-
Instant start-up
-
Precise drip-rate control
-
Temperature-independent operation
-
Stable and predictable CO₂ output
This ensures consistent plant growth and a healthy, thriving aquatic ecosystem.
How It Works
The Two-Part System
The unit contains two separate chambers:
#1 Up Solution (Top Chamber)
Contains the liquid acid solution.
#2 Down Powder (Bottom Chamber)
Contains the alkaline powder.
The Reaction
Each time a single drop of the liquid solution contacts the powder, a controlled chemical reaction occurs, instantly producing carbon dioxide (CO₂) — the same gas plants use for photosynthesis.
The Drip Control System
The key to the ZC-II’s precision is its Speed Control Valve (#3).
Rather than mixing everything at once, the liquid drips slowly into the powder chamber. By adjusting the drip rate (for example, one drop every 5–8 minutes for the 160g kit), you control:
-
CO₂ production rate
-
Internal pressure stability
-
Overall system consistency
This produces a steady, safe, and reliable CO₂ supply to your aquarium via tubing and diffuser.
Installation Guide
Follow these steps carefully for optimal performance:
Preparation
Fully close the Speed Control Valve (#3).
Add Powder
Pour the entire contents of the ZCR-160 #2 Down Powder pack into the Powder Tank (#2).
Add Water & Prepare Seal
-
Add approximately 200ml of water into the Powder Tank (#2).
-
Rinse the Main Red Rubber Head Seal with clean water to remove any refill residue and ensure a proper airtight seal.
Assemble Tanks
Attach the UP Solution Tank (#1) securely onto the Down Tank (#2).
Add Liquid
-
Remove the CO₂ Outlet Cap (#4).
-
Carefully pour the #1 Up Solution into the UP Solution Tank.
Install Diffuser
-
Replace the CO₂ Outlet Cap (#4).
-
Place the Ziss ZD-200 Diffuser inside your aquarium.
Adjust Flow Rate
Slowly open the Speed Control Valve (#3) to begin dripping through the drip hole (#5).
For the 160g kit:
👉 Aim for 1 drop every 5–8 minutes.
Mark Valve Position
Mark the valve position with a permanent marker for easier future setups.
Verify Drip Rate
Double-check that the drip rate remains stable and consistent.
Troubleshooting
❗ No CO₂ Production
If the solution is dripping but the diffuser is not releasing CO₂:
-
Detach the UP Solution Tank (#1).
-
Rinse the Main Red Rubber Head Seal thoroughly with water.
-
Reassemble and restart the system.
A clean seal ensures proper pressure buildup and gas release.
